ITV News came to us to create a series of 10 minute films to showcase and encourage diversity within their workforce. Aimed at young people considering a career in television news, we created nine individual films (for each of the ITV regions around the UK) which will be showcased on the ITV news website and presented on DVD for talks in schools.
Robin Britton from ITV News who commissioned Swift Business Films to produce the films asked us to make, “a series of award-winning films”. No pressure there then!
Filmed over the course of a month, we used a two camera set-up to interview a huge range of broadcast journalists, reporters, presenters and technical operators to give a flavour of what it’s like to work in the fast-paced environment of television news. The films were presented by ITV weather presenter Alex Beresford.
